Generate your own

Turn on shape masking in the maze generator to create your own christmas tree mazes, each with an answer key.

Make a shaped maze

How is a christmas tree maze made?

We generate a normal perfect maze and then mask it to a christmas tree outline, keeping only the cells inside the shape and carving passages between them. The result is a fully solvable maze whose border reads as a christmas tree — the corridors wind right to the edge of the shape.

Is it still a proper maze?

Yes. The masking keeps the largest connected region of the shape, so the maze is one connected puzzle with a guaranteed path from the green start dot to the red end dot. Our tests confirm every shaped maze is solvable before it is shown here.

When should I use a christmas tree maze?

For Christmas, classroom parties, card-making and activity sheets. Because each one has a stable seed, you can reprint the exact same christmas tree maze next year, or generate brand-new ones from the maze generator by turning on shape masking.

Frequently asked questions

Are christmas tree mazes free to print?

Yes — every christmas tree maze is a free Letter or A4 vector PDF with the answer key included, for home and classroom use.

What age are christmas tree mazes for?

Ages 5 and up. The grids are easy-to-medium difficulty, and the seasonal shape makes them especially popular for classroom parties and holiday activity sheets.

Can I make my own shaped maze?

Yes — open the maze generator, turn on shape masking, pick a shape and a size, and generate as many as you like. Each one downloads with its answer key.
