How are these mazes made?

Every maze is generated by an algorithm, not drawn by hand. Our easy and medium mazes use the recursive backtracker, which carves long winding corridors; our hard mazes use Prim's algorithm, which packs in short dead ends. A 'braid' pass then opens a chosen fraction of dead ends to add easier alternate routes. Because the generation is seeded, the same seed always reproduces the same maze — which is how the answer key always matches.

Is every maze solvable?

Yes, by construction. A perfect maze is a spanning tree with exactly one path between any two cells, and our test suite asserts that every generated maze has a valid solution path before it is shown. Shaped mazes are masked to the largest connected region of the shape, so they stay solvable too.

What do I get when I download?

A two-page vector PDF: the puzzle on page one, the same maze with the solution path overlaid on page two. It is sized exactly to Letter or A4 with a safe print margin, so it comes out crisp at 100% scale on any home printer. The footer records the puzzle type, difficulty and seed.

Are all the mazes free?

Yes. Every maze is free to download and print for home or classroom use, with no signup and no email gate. The answer key is included on page two of each PDF.

Can I print mazes on A4 and Letter?

Yes — each puzzle has both a Letter and an A4 button. Both are exact-size vector PDFs with a safe margin for home printers.

How do I get more mazes?

Open the maze generator and click generate as many times as you like. Every maze gets a unique seed, so each one is different, and you can reprint any seed exactly.

Do you have mazes for a specific age?

Yes — easy mazes suit ages 3–6, medium suit 6–10, and hard suit 10+ and adults. The 'for kids' and 'for adults' pages group them by age.
