These word search puzzles for adults hide fifteen words in a 15 × 15 grid, and the words can run in all eight directions — backwards, upwards and along both diagonals — and cross each other. How are these different from kids' word searches?
In three ways. Words go in every direction, so one may read backwards or from bottom to top. Each grid hides fifteen words instead of eight or ten, so the bank lasts longer. And the vocabulary is grown-up: HYDRANGEA, COLANDER, ITINERARY, CRESCENDO. The grid stays at 15 × 15, so the letters still print about 19 points tall on US Letter, larger than on our 18 × 18 hard puzzles.
Which themes are included?
Garden (hydrangea, trellis, wheelbarrow), Kitchen (colander, skillet, ramekin), Travel (itinerary, souvenir, sightseeing) and Music (orchestra, crescendo, trombone), with three puzzles per theme. Each theme has eighteen words and every puzzle uses fifteen of them, so the three grids in a theme are all different.
Is there a larger print version?
Yes — the large print word search set uses 11 × 11 grids with letters about 29 points tall and an 18-point word bank, and its words never run backwards. For a tougher challenge instead, the hard word search hides long words in an 18 × 18 grid.

Are these word searches suitable for seniors?
Yes. If small print is a problem, choose the large print word search set instead, which has bigger letters, fewer words per page and no backwards words.
Do the words go backwards?
Yes — words can run in any of eight directions, including right to left, bottom to top and along every diagonal, and they may cross and share letters.
